Phyllis, my alter ego, kvetches about aging

I live in a village on an island in the Pacific Northwest. Due to economics, we’ve become a NORC, a naturally occurring retirement community. So many creative, talented people moved here when we could afford to buy, and here we are, growing old together but not willing to cash in our chips and disappear. To claim our age and our intention to support one another as a community, we put on a variety show at the end of 2023 called Walking Eachother Home – how are we really going to do it! My alter-ego, Phyllis Wertzl, had a lot to say about it.
